Bringing Chivalry Back!

I do not believe that Chivalry is Dead. I believe that along the way of Feminism, women becoming more independent and equal to men in the home and in society, this idea of men not having to be so much of a gentleman or romantic became acceptable. Well, cross my heart I do believe that Ms. Manners is rolling in her perfectly ironed chiffon lined coffin. Now I'm not a prude... I do believe that there can be some level of equality.. offering to pay for dinner (at least offering ladies) not asking for things. But really! what is wrong with asking that a guy do a little chasing? Having respect for a woman in that they want to actually get to know them? Why must you mistake me for 'Booty Call' and not see that I am 'Wifey'??

Again, don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for someone who will be the main breadwinner, the one who drops roses to me on a daily, or remember the anniversary of us meeting. I just want you to make the first move and ask me out on a date. Have a conversation with me that does not only include sex. I want to feel wanted. Trust.. you may get more than you asked for boys...

I wanted to start this journal as a rant.. but as I was preparing myself for my Friday single girl night in party (which you prepare by obtaining a nice inexpensive bottle of wine, a cupcake, Say Yes to the Dress, comfy sweats and only inviting some silly socks to the party), I realized that I have been wanting to transmit my dating experiences. Yes, this is completely NOT an original idea, but there are therapeutic properties in writing down our thoughts and making since of our experiences. I hope to use this tool as that and hopefully add a laugh or two when being confronted with debauchery worthy of a Tyler Perry movie.

Enjoy!
